This is a free event for our school community and we need lots of helping hands to make it possible. Volunteer opportunities are available for the Friday morning before the event and, of course, for the hours prior to the dance. Lets get the Multi-purpose BALLROOM all decked out!

Chinese Year of the Horse | 1 of 12-year-cycle of animals that make the Chinese zodiac @CCC_LA

These interact with the five elements: wood, metal, fire, water, earth. 2014 is the year of the wood horse, taking over from the year of the water snake. In celebrating over one hundred years of tradition, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles presents the 115th Annual Golden Dragon Parade.

The day of the Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday of the year for nearly 1.5 million persons of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese descent in Southern California. It is celebrated with colorful festivals, parades, and most importantly, large family gatherings. It is also a time when ancestors are fondly remembered and families give thanks for their blessings. Red packets of money (“Lai See” or “Hung Bao”) and firecrackers add fun and excitement to the Chinese New Year celebration.
