Did you know that over 200,000 tons of electronics ended up in landfills in California last year? Help celebrate Earth Day on April 22, by participating in the 3rd Annual E-Waste Collection event this week sponsored by State Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez and LAUSD Board Member Bennett Kayser. So, get rid of the clutter in your home and garage and recycle your old electronics (E-Waste) and help keep our landfills healthy. Bring your old TV's, computers, cell phones, power cords, cables, and basically anything else that was powered by electricity to be disposed of for you in a proper manner. All the E-Waste we collect will be weighed, and the school with the greatest amount of poundage collected will keep 50% of the money collected from the E-Waste where we at Eagle Rock Elementary will get reinvest it into working technology for our students. Relay for Life is back in Eagle Rock to help the American Cancer Society finish the fight against cancer! Team Eagle Rock Elementary will participate yet again (special thanks to Dan & Nancy Marfisi as Captains!) at the annual event at Eagle Rock High School on April 18-19, 10am to 10am. Click here to join our team, register as a survivor, walk with us, camp out, donate, support! Eagle Rock High School 1750 Yosemite Dr Los Angeles, CA 90041 Relay is a community-driven and family-friendly event filled with entertainment for all. It is free... but come prepared to support some fundraising activities like games and food sales. Participate in the moving survivors ceremony that starts our event (10am), cheering on survivors as they take the first lap. Then remember all of our loved ones at the Luminaria ceremony (9pm) that will certainly touch you as we take a silent candle lit lap, and then hang in there with us at 10am the following morning, along with 100.3 The Sound, to celebrate that morning has come and lives have been saved! Survivors... it's all about you! Inspire us by taking part in the morning ceremonies and enjoy some treats especially for you! Register now so we can plan for your special day! Eagle Rock Elementary PTA & f.a.t.h.e.r. (Father’s Association To Help Eagle Rock) invite you all to dance like nobody is watching at the Funky Family Spring Fling Dance! This Friday, April 10, 2015 from 6:30p until 8:30p in the Multipurpose Room (MPR). Admission is FREE; however, we ask that all children be accompanied by an adult. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase and you may also take a photo at the Photo Booth for $2. |
