Our First General Meeting of the 2015-2016 school year will take place next Wednesday evening at 6:30p in the Multipurpose Room (MPR).  Refreshments and childcare will be provided. We'll review and vote on the proposed budget and planned activities for the 2015-2016 year.

Unassigned Day next Monday, 9/14 | Happy New Year to members of our Jewish Community #RoshHashanah

All LAUSD schools will be closed next Monday, September 14 and classes will resume on Tuesday, September 15. An Unassigned Day, September 14 is also "Rosh Hashanah" which is the Jewish New Year and the first of the High Holy Days or Yamim Nora'im ("Days of Awe") which usually occur in the early autumn of the Northern Hemisphere. It is a two-day celebration, which begins on the first day of Tishrei. Rosh Hashanah customs include sounding the shofar (a hollowed-out ram's horn) and eating symbolic foods such as apples dipped in honey to evoke a "sweet new year".

9/14/1814 | Francis Scott Key pens poem that later becomes our #NationalAnthem #AmericanHistory

Just over 200 years ago, on September 14, 1814, U.S. soldiers at Baltimore’s Fort McHenry raised a huge American flag to celebrate a crucial victory over British forces during the War of 1812. The sight of those “broad stripes and bright stars” inspired Francis Scott Key to write a song that eventually became the United States national anthem. Key’s words gave new significance to a national symbol and started a tradition through which generations of Americans have invested the flag with their own meanings and memories.

Today is the 1st day of 10-day #MembershipDrive | Thanks to all who purchased @ Orientation

Our 10-day Membership Drive kicks off today September 8 and continues through September 18. Big thanks goes out to all who purchased their memberships at Orientation!

To join, complete the membership envelope sent home with your child with your member information, dues (cash or check payable to ERE PTA), and optional donation, and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday, September 18. 

Classes with the highest number of memberships in Kindergarten, First through Third Grades, and Fourth Through Sixth Grades will receive a popsicle party.

Next Tuesday, September 8 is the Annual Eagle Rock Elementary Back to School Night from 6:00-7:30p. This is an opportunity to hear from your child's teacher what the instructional goals are for this year and is an adult event. Please consider arranging childcare.

EREEF's "Friendraiser" which was originally scheduled for this Tuesday, June 2 at Colorado Wine Company has been postponed until the 2nd week of school in late August. As the date draws nearer, we'll get another reminder out.

Kinder Culmination:
Wednesday June 3, 2015 at 9:00a (Auditorium)

6th Grade Culmination
Thursday, June 4, 2015. Two sessions: 8:30 & 10:30 (Auditorium). You must have tickets to enter and any mylar balloons, strollers, etc. will have to be stored in the Parent Center.

Thursday, June 4, 2015 is the Last Day of School.

Please note that students will be dismissed early at 12:45p and Report Cards will go home with students. 

Lastly, all remaining Lost and Found items will be donated.
